Collections will begin within the standard collection process by means of telephone calls, letters, emails and meetings. Should this fail, we will move onto the Legal Collection process by ways of issuing a letter of demand, summons and judgement through the South African Magistrate’s Court.
We pride ourselves in getting results in the most efficient time possible and therefore offer a NO SUCCESS NO CHARGE policy.
Sunbase Legal is registered with the Council for Debt Collectors and therefore follow a strict code of conduct.

We use a combination of tracing mechanisms and facilities for your benefit to ensure we can accurately locate your debtors from the Credit Bureau that will provide us with contact information, assets owned, affiliations with companies, known address and default judgements.
This allows us to accurately assess any potential risks as well as their financial position to decide whether we could facilitate a practical repayment plan or continue with the necessary legal action(s).

Typically defaults are listed for credit accounts where a credit application has been signed and that have been overdue for 90 days or more. The National Credit Act has outlined that a credit provider must give 20 days of written notice warning the debtor that their default will be reported to the Credit Bureau.
In line with the NCA, Sunbase Legal can assist our clients with applying for default listings of the debtor in question if no response has been given within the 20 day notice period.

Sunbase makes it easy to confirm the authenticity of consumer provided information so that you can transact with confidence and peace of mind. We do this by digital identity verification methods by comparing the consumer provided information with a data held by governments, social media and the largest locally owned credit information bureau in South Africa known as Xpert Decision Systems (XDS).
XDS recently launches its’ web-based facial recognition customer on-boarding solution that enables users, like Sunbase Legal, to remotely and securely verify the identity of a consumer in real time.

Fraud detection and prevention in a nutshell is the collection of information and techniques designed to detect, monitor and prevent fraud which would otherwise be damaging in a number of ways. Sunbase is registered with XDS that has developed a powerful identity fraud prevention service called Indenticate.
Identicate creates a link that matches demographic data (such as name, address and ID number) to fingerprint data which has proven to be most efficient accurate way to authenticate consumer identity fraud.
